Like the Adjustment chapter, the Hermit chapter introduces no new locations as it takes place at Jonas’ Merriam Park home that was introduced in the Hierophant chapter. It begins with a discussion between Jonas and Sofia Borgia, the Magister of Italy, who are clearly old friends. It concludes with Michael and Samantha arriving to explain what they managed to find out on their trip to Rochester in the Chariot chapter.
