I do realize this is basically an ad, but I let it through so I could share my experience with monetizing my blogging for anybody who’s interested..
Many years ago now, I tried using Google’s Adwords on Augoeides, my paranormal blog that (even at the time) was getting way more traffic than this one is now. Google’s payout threshold was $10.00. It took me two years to get up to around $9.50, and then Google changed their program, wiped out everybody’s accounts, and I lost the $9.50 that I had built up from two years of irritating my readers. So not only didn’t it generate any significant income, Google basically took my money.
So as I see it, programs like Adwords are basically scams. It’s not that they pay out nothing, but they don’t pay out very much even when you get to keep your earnings. And that’s not even guaranteed.
